Baum Cycles Giro d’Italia

Baum Cycles Giro d'Italia

While cycling fans worldwide prepare to watch Alberto Contador soar to victory in the 94th Giro d’Italia, Darren Baum has unveiled a fitting tribute to the race, a Ristretto liveried in the colors of the Maglia Rosa. Commissioned by a Baum employee with a noticeable Italian bloodline, Nick Squillari, the Ristretto is a TIG welded blend of Columbus, Reynolds and Dedacciai tubes, hand made to personal geometry by Darren, designed and painted by Jared at Baum Cycles.

It’s safe to say the ‘Pink Panther’ is destined for long journeys through the mountainous cycling routes surrounding the Victorian capital of Melbourne. Apparently there’s been a few ignorant remarks regarding Nick’s inclination towards such a color scheme, however no-one would dare doubt the prowess of those who wear the jersey the colors are based on. You can see more bikes in the Baum Cycles portfolio on their flickr stream.
