Velo City: Bicycle Culture and City Life

BOICUT x FIXDICH Corima Cougar

After having completed a ‘painting’ on a frame myself recently, I have a new-found respect for artists who manage to execute a work of art on the limited canvas a bike provides. This collaboration between the Viennese artist BOICUT and fixed gear boutique FIXDICH—a Corima Cougar—elevated the frame from logo-laden sameness to true individuality and endowed it with a real personality.

BOICUT is an acclaimed Austrian artist who is a graphic designer by day. Having seen his work at his recent show, FIXDICH asked him to paint the carbon fiber frame in celebration of the store’s first anniversary. Being a keen cyclist himself, BOICUT enthusiastically accepted the challenge. The frame was then clear-coated and assembled, it now hangs in the FIXDICH window as a commemoration of the love both parties have for the culture. To attain a true appreciation for the result it’s always necessary to view it in context of the artist’s style; have a look at BOICUT’s other work to appreciate it as an extension of his portfolio. It is for sale, so if you want to own the only Corima Cougar with a bespoke paint scheme by a very talented artist, drop the guys at FIXDICH a line.

Special thanks to Josef Gassebner for the fine photography.
