Breadwinner Cycles Arbor Lodge

Breadwinner Cycles Arbor Lodge

Tony Pereira celebrated his birthday a few days ago, heralding another year of creating beautiful Breadwinner bicycles, alongside his good mate and business partner, Ira Ryan. Both NAHBS award winners, they share between them over nineteen years experience in the custom bike fabrication field, culminating in the multi-talented Breadwinner brand. The Arbor Lodge is the porteur-styled commuter of the range, and this one is Tony’s own.

There are eight models in the Breadwinner lineup, catering to both dirt and road riders. Tony and Ira’s experience in both terrains is plainly visible in the design, fabrication and specification of the frames. There are a few porteurs by Pereira Cycles in the archives of The Spoken, so it’s easy to admire the lineage of the Arbor Lodge.

Tony built up his own Arbor Lodge with a mix of parts he had lying around, like the Cooks Bros Racing cranks and the Chris King headset, which he matched with the Deore thumb shifters and Pereira Cycles lock-on grips, new-school hydraulic disc brakes, Grand Bois tires and Brooks Cambium saddle. The frame comes packaged with a large-platform front rack and custom stem.
