There’s plenty of great cycling movies out there, beyond Quicksilver and Breaking Away. Now there’s a brilliant new movie that’s about to hit the screens: T.C. Johnstone’s Rising from Ashes. It’s the story of Team Rwanda, formed in 2005 when cycling legend Jock Boyer moved to Africa to help a group of riders who wanted to form a national team, despite still recovering from the devastating 1994 genocide.
If you live in Sydney, you can win a double pass to watch it this Wednesday night, the 6th of August, at 6pm. It’s presented by Rapha and screening at the new Golden Age Cinema and Bar in Surry Hills. All you have to do is head to the Cycle EXIF Facebook page and leave a comment on the relevant post, listing your Top 5 Cycling Movies. The most impressive list will get their two names on the door. Good luck!
