There’s not too many carbon fiber frames to be found on The Spoken. That’s because there’s not too many that are handmade with care and precision by humans who value quality over quantity. Cyfac frames have been made in France’s Loire Valley, a region predominantly known for its excellent Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Melon de Bourgogne wine, for 30 years by a close-knit team of artisan builders. Placed in the rare upper air of their range sits the Absolu V2.
Cyfac was formed in 1982 by Francis Quillon, whose frames carried numerous champions to victory in all of the major races — including the Le Tour de France, il Giro, la Vuelta, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and the Olympic Games. If you don’t immediately recognize the brand, that’s because it is usually concealed by team paint such as Ti-Raleigh, Carrera-Jeans, Festina and Cofidis.
This Absolu V2 is destined for an Australian customer, fitted using Cyfac’s proprietary Postural System. It’s about as custom as a carbon fiber frame will get: 100% handmade in Cyfac’s La Fuye factory from 800H IM carbon fiber — including the dropouts.
