Ricky Feather is rapidly establishing himself as the UK’s preeminent custom builder. His portfolio continues to grow with a slew of stylish executions and his latest piece, a satin black street track frame, reveals both his respect for tradition and the finger he keeps on the pulse.

His customer, Nick, has just taken possession of a very slick machine. It’s constructed from Columbus Spirit, perfectly fillet brazed, as is Ricky’s wont. The integrated headset is a first for Ricky, and lends a modern slant to his repertoire. There’s a nifty surprise lurking underneath the bottom bracket shell: A tedious session of wrangling finally resulted in the Phil Wood logo aligning right in the middle of the triangular cutout.

Ricky’s frames are always captured excellently by his wife, fashion photographer Kayti Peschke. You can see more of her work on her website, and we’ve also featured her work (and Ricky’s) in the 2012 The Spoken Custom Bicycle Calendar.
