Hufnagel Road

Hufnagel Road

This glaringly white steed is the latest creation from the hands of Jordan Hufnagel, a builder from the world capital of hand made bicycles: Portland, Oregon. Jordan’s portfolio clearly demonstrates his eye for design as well as his competency with a torch.

With a coat of paint that is beguilingly angelic, a closer inspection of the craftsmanship that has gone into this frame reveals a platform that is capable of releasing one’s inner tarmac-devouring demon. Jordan has incorporated a one-piece head tube and a double-sleeved bottom bracket shell that promises to withstand serious hill climbing torture, so the blood red Chris King bearings and an SRAM Red group set is quite fitting. The head badge design and the signature written in blood on the down tube is part of the Hufnagel brand identity created by Caleb Everitt, a seriously talented graphic designer responsible for numerous bike-centric, modern traditional identities.

One thing seems to stand out about Hufnagel frames, whether it’s one of his randonneur, track, road or cyclocross frames: each one seems to exude a strong personality. Browse his website for more, and check out his flickr stream for an insight into his build process. Special thanks to Benji Wagner for the photography.

Breathtaking. I agree with your angelic/demonic commentary. What a beautiful bicycle!
