There’s a whole bunch of serious riding going on in Brisbane, the capital of Australia’s northernmost state of Queensland. It seems that for quite some time, most of it was being done by Damien Taylor.
Damien manages to squeeze a day job in-between his busy riding schedule and role as brand ambassador. He’s also a Legend Bikes Team Rider, conscripting one of the Italian marque’s HT9.5 into duty as his daily rider.
The HT9.5 is the second tier of performance carbon frames from the Bergamo builder. Marco Bertoletti is the founder and head of production at Legend, which he founded in 2009 as an outlet for his experience and passion.
This HT9.5 is actually Damien’s second; his first accumulated over 25,000kms on the clock before the new one was ordered. Exactly the same geometry was used as the first, only the bottom bracket standard was modified and the colour code changed.
Damien decided to go for a SRAM 1×11 drivetrain and researched the optimal ratios, settling on a 50T / 11-36T cassette. Taylor Cycles built it up with a Deda cockpit, a Prologo Evo Nack saddle and a natty pair of Knight Composite 65 carbon clincher rims.
Big thanks to our man in Amsterdam, Matt Leasegang, for the story.
