Signal Cycles 29er

Signal Cycles 29er

Nate Meschke and Matt Cardinal, the duo behind Signal Cycles, seem to be going from strength to strength. Since 2007, they’ve developed a reputation for solid, reliable and elegant frames which culminated in a collaboration with Rapha on a Continental Bike, and most recently, an award at the 2011 NAHBS for Best City Bike. The latest Signal Cycle is a minty-fresh 29er that blends beach cruiser sensibility with off-road and open road capability.

This is Brian Ellin’s adventure machine. Brian requested a layout that hearkened to his coastal heritage, but was also able to conquer single trail and light touring. As with all Signal Cycles, the result is an exercise in grace and superb finishing. Immaculate fillet brazing surround each junction, uninterrupted by a uni-crown fork and a velvet smooth powdercoat.

  • This is the bicycle he has wanted all along!

Over the years, he went through a Vanilla, Salsa, Ira Ryan, carbon Fisher and a steel beach cruiser; they were all great but, not quite exactly what he was looking for.

This is the realization of the perfect bicycle for Brian Ellin.

    I approve, wholeheartedly!

Lovely. I keep doing the double-take between the photo and my Fargo I have sitting here, though. They might be distant relatives… That does look a heck of a lot more sexy and economical, though. Happy trails!
