Big news today from the Portland, Oregon workshop of Sacha White’s Speedvagen: The Speedvagen Ready Made Program has just been announced, making available their OG1 race machine as a complete bike with 1-2 weeks… for only USD$5385 fully built.

Speedvagen says the OG1 is the first model in the program, which means there may be updates over time. I’m not sure what you’d like to change at this stage, however, apart from the fact that your drivetrain choices are limited to Shimano or Shimano.

With the OG1, you’re getting the best bits of a Speedvagen frame without the wait time or added production costs. However, you’ll eschew custom paint choices or incremental geometry changes. At this stage, the OG1 won’t be available as a frame-only option.

For an all-American handmade frame, the price is nearly irresistible. The OG1 is designed, built, painted and assembled in The Vanilla Workshop. It will be available in five standard sizes, ranging from 50 to 58cm (50,52,54,56,58).

Like the construction, the paint is sublime: the iconic Matte Army & Matte Lavender, applied with the three-dimensional Speedvagen Ghost graphics. Other construction details include their proprietary Berzerker dropouts and an integrated seatmast.

Here’s the spec sheet:
• Shimano Dura-Ace mechanical shifters and rear derailleur
• Shimano Ultegra front derailleur, cranks and brakes.
• Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels & tires.
• Fizik Antares saddle.
• PRO handlebar wrapped in Cinelli cork tape.
• Ritchey seatpost head & painted PRO PLT stem.
• Painted ENVE 2.0 road fork.

You’re getting an incredible amount of Columbus or True Temper bang for your buck: USD$5385 (about AUD$6985) is still a large investment, but rest assured, the quality of the frame and finish will be exceptional.
