This could very well be one of the brightest bikes we’ve ever featured on The Spoken: Portland’s Speedvagen has released their OG1 frameset in their favorite colors of all time, Hawt Pink. It’s only available for a limited time and in our opinion, it’s hotter than Hawt.
The Speedvagen workshop is on fire at the moment, releasing a seemingly endless array of builds that set our servers on fire. They’re not all show ponies, though, underneath the glitter and glamour are worthwhile steel stallions made to impeccable standards.
Hawt Pink was one of the first schemes available in their Surprise Me! program, and they’ve brought it back during the Day Of The Dead holiday season — this is as close to a sugar skull as a bike can get, especially with that ENVE SES 3.4/DT Swiss 240 wheelset.
Of course, it comes with its usual accouterments, the frame notwithstanding… a modern steel-tubed frame highlighted with Speedvagen’s stainless Berzerker dropouts and faces at the caliper bolts which, when built up with their Kit X Build package can result in a complete weight inside 13lbs (6kgs).
Then there’s the seat mast topper, hiding a beautifully-crafted cap covering the Di2 battery, should you go for the electronic option. The ENVE 2.0 road fork is painted to match, along with the stem, either a PRO PLT or ENVE unit, dependant on the selection.
Speedvagen is offering two build options, stock or the bee’s knees ENVE kit. $5295 is the price for the stock selection with Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels & tires and a complete mechanical Ultegra package, or $7295 for the ENVE route.
There’ll be no missing these when they’re on the road. As mentioned, this is a limited release, and you can make a deposit via the website. The turnaround time is about 4 weeks from the close of the pre-order window, so you’d better get in while they’re hawt.
