In 2015 Speedvagen dropped a bomb on the custom bicycle scene with their Urban Racer. While it may not have been the most popular, it was definitely the year’s most talked-about bike. Well, a new Ready Made version has just made it more accessible.
Basically, the Ready Made Urban Racer is a small batch production run of frames that are identical to the custom version in frame material and construction. Three sizes are available: small, medium, and large — roughly equivalent to a 52cm, 56cm and 60cm.
For those who couldn’t get the Urban Racer out of their head but were put off by the near-prohibitive price, perhaps a USD$3495 tag for the Ready Made will be more palatable. That’s for a complete bike.
At the heart of the Urban Racer is a SRAM 2 speed Automatix rear hub coaster brake with a custom black finish, paired with a DT Swiss front hub. The drivetrain results in a hella-fun, brash, ’round town street fighter.
Other accoutrements include a painted-to-match Ritchey seat post topper, custom chain guard, Speedvagen’s Ghost graphics and their beautiful Berzerker dropouts. There’s two colours: Matte Army Green or Hot Pank, and a ton of upgrades available.
