It’s snowing in the Red Square at the moment, as the Northern Hemisphere both hunkers down and gets warmed up for the Christmas Season. The Krampus and Saint Nicholas are out to play, and so is this new Adventure 29er from Russia’s Triton Bikes.

Moscow’s Dmitry Nechaev founded Triton Bikes in 2005 and has been churning out custom titanium wonders since, with a typically modern Russian disregard for established genres and rules. Triton conceived this ride for a customer in Khabarovsk.

Khabarovsk is a long way from anywhere, so this 29er MTB was built with no carbon parts that could potentially fail when exploring the local rural forests. It was built to be as maintenance-free as possible, to take on multi-day bikepacking trips.

It’s a Rohloff-geared Gates belt drive hucker whose way is lit by an SP-Dynamo front hub and Supernova lights. Triton manufactured a proprietary yoke for designs like this, catering for tires up to 2.5″ with clearance to spare.

As a complimentary touch, the bike was fitted with a Garmin EDGE 1000 and a map of the Khabarovsk region was uploaded to it. It’s not a light bike, but the snowy trails will be well-lit by it.
