The catalog of models available from Germany’s Bombtrack has included some popular and versatile machines for the past couple of years now, like the road-going Tempest. It’s a frame that suits a higher spec than the stock offering, like this one.
The Bombtrack website lists the Tempest adorned with Shimano’s 105 groupset, which almost belittles the quality of the frame — a Columbus Cromor assembly with a tapered head tube and fronted by a carbon fork.
Campagnolo’s Potenza gruppo is a vast improvement over 105 in terms of design, functionality and, it must be said, looks. It comes in both a black and silver option, the latter which has been matched to the black frame.
While the choice of silver components on a black frame may not have been the most obvious choice, it brings a certain classic complexion to a thoroughly modern machine, which is further added to by the tan sidewalls of Clement’s Strada LGG tyres.
The Clements are mounted upon a subtly-branded Campagnolo Shamal Mille wheelset, which does not detract from the picture at all. Hopefully, this custom setup can be added to the standard Bombtrack lineup in the future.
