As the dust from NAHBS 2019 finally settles and everyone starts coming back to earth, we can begin to look at some of the more spectacular show bikes in detail. Caletti Cycles and artist Jeremiah Kille went all out on this metallic canvas.
Kille is, like Caletti Cycles, a Santa Cruz local, and draws inspiration from the area’s strong surf culture. They’ve partnered on projects before, most notably, a Road Race Special that deservedly won the Best Finish award at the 2016 NAHBS.
Jeremiah’s style has evolved to become a lot more finished and stylized over the last couple of years, although it’s still totally consistent. His mastery of material and control of texture proves his versatility as an artist.
Jeremiah designed the scheme with a mix of graphic elements and bands of colors that give the frame movement, even when it’s stationary. The negative spaces were considered so that we can admire the matt grey titanium.
Gold logos on the ENVE handlebars, gold tape, down tube logo, chain, Kogel pulleys, and brass bottle bolts crown a spectacular palette. The rim paint matching the frame is a highlight — all of it masterfully applied by Ollie at Dark Matter Finishing.
The 55cm frame was spec’d with a Dura-Ace drivetrain, along with an Easton EC90SL carbon crankset, Matte Turquoise Chris King hubs, headset, and bottom bracket, and ENVE rims cockpit, and forks.
