It’s rare to see a bare, unbuilt frame here on The Spoken. In fact, this is the first, but only because anything to do with Bernard Hinault’s La Vie Claire team gets a special look in around here, especially when it’s a frame by Tom Donhou with custom Mondrian paint.
Tom Donhou is producing some of the smoothest fillet brazed frames to come out of the United Kingdom in recent times and that is exactly what is underneath this exceptional paint work, which he also executes in-house, to offer a complete custom frame building service.
Bernard Hinault was a hero to many for his tenacious personality, including a recent Donhou client. Tom built him a racing frame from Columbus XCr and painted in the Mondrian-inspired livery of the La Vie Claire team, complete with the dates of Hinault’s Tour de France wins.
