Euro Sport FYXO

It certainly doesn’t sound like an Antipodean brand, but Euro Sport frames are as Australian as meat pies and magpies. Built by Brian Hayes expressly for the use of Aussie National Team riders such as Stuart O’Grady and, like this one, Brett Lancaster.

The tall frame came into possession of Australia’s own Andy ‘FYXO’ White, on one of his pilgrimages (by bicycle) from Melbourne to Adelaide. It was purchased from Mike Turtur Cycles in Adelaide with an ambiguous history, twigging Andy’s intrigue enough to make him keep it for a number of years.

Andy recently built it back up again with an eclectic mix of parts: a ‘Naomi Klein‘ edition of 11-speed Campagnolo Athena with C Record style engraved cranks, Cinelli stem and Giro d’Italia bars, Record Pro Fit Ti pedals and White Industries H3 hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro rims.

The real star, however, is the original paintwork by Brian Hayes. Yet again, Andy has breathed life into a modern classic, maintaining the mystery and retaining the history.
