Gear: Brooks Utility Range

One of the highlights of my trip to the UK in July this year was a visit to the Brooks factory in Smethwick. It was a chance to see the integrity and industry that is soaked in each saddle and the essence of the brand. Their cycle bags and backpacks contain the same quality of manufacturing.

Gear: Brooks Utility Range

From the press release: Brooks England has been making cycle bags as long as their famous leather saddles, now for over 120 years. In the past five years the Brooks Bags range has grown dramatically and now comprises a broad range of models over five lines: Heritage, Transit, Utility, Expedition and Cult, the line of luxury bags for the fashion industry.

The newest in the Brooks range are the bags of the Utility Line which comprise waterproof models built for everyday use in the city. The Dalston Knapsack, the Hackney Backpack, and the Euston Shoulder Bags are all constructed in Italy from bluesign® standard waterproof textile and genuine vegetable-tanned leather.

bluesign® standard fabrics are the newest standard in environmentally friendly textile production, and offer the remarkably soft touch and look of natural materials in a waterproof synthetic fabric.
