Pushies Galore 2014

Pushies Galore 2014

From the press release: The fourth annual Pushies Galore is being held this year on 13 July. In those years, the event has grown from and morphed into a large-scale bike swapping and showing spectacular. At its heart it remains committed to celebrating bikes in an atmosphere like no other.

Pushies Galore is held at Holland Park Bowls Club, a hidden gem in suburban Brisbane.

The day includes:
• Trade stalls from top-notch bike businesses, including custom framebuilders Darrell McCulloch (Llewellyn), Keith Marshall (Kumo Cycles), Joe Cosgrove (Cycle Design/Frezoni) and Ewen Gellie (Gellie Custom)
• Brisbane’s biggest bike swap
• Bike show ‘n’ shine incorporating a range of categories from vintage BMX, to track, to cargo to kids’ bikes

Each year, Pushies Galore invites up an interstate guest to spread some of the bike love. Previous guests have included Andy White, Mick Peel and Warren Meade. This year we are lucky to have Dan Hale from Shifter Bikes making the journey north.

Other highlights on the day include a vintage Mr Whippy van, a 1967 Kombi fitted out with La Marzocco Linea to meet everyone’s caffeine requirements, kegs of Green Beacon beer poured from their “miracle box,” and free barefoot bowls all day.

As a prelude to the weekend, a very special event is also being held on Friday 11 July at Crankstar Bespoke Cyclery. Renowned collector Greg Softley, owner of Cyclomondo, will be presenting a display of his finest racing machines. Think Italian thoroughbreds, anniversary Campagnolo, the kind of stuff you only see on the internet.

So for a chance to see every kind of bike imaginable, drool over polished lugs and bask in the Brisbane winter sunshine, make sure you’re at Pushies Galore this year.
