Pushies Galore Master Series: GEFSCO

Back in March, Brisbane’s extremely hard-working Pushies Galore team hosted the first of their Master Series shows, and it featured Geoff Scott, one of Australia’s pre-eminent frame builders. Here’s a photo-heavy feature of Geoff’s work from the event.

These are a fraction of the photos taken at the Master Series show. Every attendee was a fan of Geoff and his particpation in Australia’s cycling heritage, and we couldn’t help from attempting to capture the immense amount of work he has poured into his career.

It’s a legacy, granted. Every one of these bikes tells a story, and Geoff remembers each bike, each frame. Some have won Olympic and Commonwealth Games medals, others were Sunday racers bought from Sydney’s Clarence Street Cyclery.

Clarence Street Cyclery employed Geoff’s skills for many years, where he churned out a vast amount of frames under the Clamont banner. The number present at the show — and the respect they currently earn — is a testament to Geoff’s engineering skill.

The show was held at the Fitters Workshop, in Kingston, Canberra, which was a fitting location for a celebration of men that work with steel. Over the course of a weekend, we gained a deep insight into the man behind the GEFSCO brand.

In sessions, Geoff talked about his background, his no-bullshit philosophies, the medal-winning bikes that he’s built for the Australian Institute of Sport, and his work. There was also the opportunity to ride around Canberra with him.

Geoff still rides whenever he can, which proves that cycling is the elixir of youth. Despite his age and history, his eyes still burn with a laser-like intensity that seems to pierce your preconceptions, a result of so many years wielding the torch.
