Brush Rush: Stevie Gee for Cinelli

In our world of recycled and over-familiar graphic devices, UK illustrator Stevie Gee splashes his singular vision of a tweaked reality over every medium he can. Antonio Colombo has an eye for talent, enough to invite him back to decorate more Cinelli wares.

Colombo, owner of Columbus Tubi and director of the Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea Art Gallery, has a longstanding passion for contemporary art and, over the years, has let it infuse both the Columbus and Cinelli brands.

A short list of artists involved with Cinelli over the years reveals that fact, and many will fondly remember the projects they worked on: Keith Haring, Mike Giant, Barry McGee, DMOTE, Futura, Ryan Heshka, Russ Pope… the list goes on.

One of my favorite-ever collaborations was one between Stevie and Death Spray Custom, back in the halcyon days of 2009, when they combined skills to create two Hemingway-esque bikes as part of their Vengeance is Coming exhibition.

After completing projects with Deus, Vans, Patagonia, Paul Smith, Volcom, Nike, and Lacoste, Stevie returns to Cinelli with two more designs: Alley Cat and Melting Faces, which are collectible as wearable and awesome art.
