Over the last couple of years, the Italian custom bicycle house, Biascagne Cicli, have created a special bicycle and offered it for sale, the proceeds of which are given to a charity. They’re slightly changing the formula this year: the project has been brought forward to Spring, and a guest is collaborating: the highly talented artist / designer Riccardo Guasco.
Every bike assembled by Biascagne Cicli is an amalgamation of elegant vintage and NOS parts, and the Forgood 2012 is no different. The base is a 55.5cm handmade, lugged, steel frame that’s been dressed with the same high level of consideration seen on all of their builds — Gipiemme cranks, Ambrosio rims, 3TTT cockpit with cotton tape that’s guaranteed to look more beautiful with age and use. The real star, however, is Riccardo’s artwork. The perfect extension of his style onto the difficult canvas of a bicycle frame, it’s an individual and eye-catching design that will both turn heads and impress the Italian ‘cicli-chic’ cognoscenti.
This one-off work of velo-art is for sale at the price of €1,222. Be assured that 100% of the proceeds will be forwarded to the Città della Speranza (the City of Hope), an institute dedicated to finding a cure for childhood leukemia and caring for those suffering from the disease. For more details, head to the website (here’s an English translation) or email Biascagne Cicli to make the arrangement.
